Last week, Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon confirmed the show is after his wife, but they won’t get her unless the price is right. He said, “They want her, I know that… but I ain’t letting her outta the house for less than $100 million. They’ve (producers) got to step up if they want that. That’s Mariah Carey, she’s got more number ones than anyone ever…that’s worth something.” $100 million? Really? Ah Nick Cannon, a man of the people. Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting Carey “is finalizing a deal” that would pay Carey a record $17 million to jump in as a judge. On another note, inaugural American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson has gone on the record saying fellow AI alum Carrie Underwood would make an excellent AI judge. Clarkson, who just wrapped the first season on her own singing competition series Duets, told Us Weekly, “I don’t want to be a judge. Mentor is more my style. But (Underwood) she would. She can have that face…that bluff face! She can put that on! She would be good.”
