CBS Cancels All Bubble Shows But “The Mentalist”
It was a bad day to be a bubble show on CBS yesterday.
The network renewed “The Mentalist” for a seventh season, opting to cancel everything else that was pending a renewal.
That means “The Crazy Ones,” “Friends with Better Lives” and “Bad Teacher” were cut, along with dramas “Intelligence” and “Hostages.”
CBS will announce their new fall schedule at their upfront on Wednesday, which will include an “NCIS” spinoff set in New Orleans and “CSI: Cyber.”
Also receiving series orders were Matthew Perry’s “Odd Couple” reboot and multi-camera comedy “The McCarthys,” according to HitFix.
As for dramas, Tea Leoni’s “Madame Secretary” was ordered to series, along with Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott’s “Stalker” from Kevin Williamson (“The Following”), genius drama “Scorpion” with Katharine McPhee and the previously announced “Battle Creek” with Josh Duhamel.
