Zac Efron Dishes on Sobriety & Skid Row Incident
Zac Efron has handily shaken off his Disney image, and now he’s coming clean about the headlines that plagued him for the past year.
The “Neighbors” actor broke down the scuffle he and a friend reportedly had with a homeless man on Skid Row in a chat with “The Hollywood Reporter.”
The man allegedly tapped on the window, and after Efron’s friend exited the car, and before he knew, “they started fighting.”
“I saw that [the homeless man] was carrying some sort of a knife, or shank, and I got out of the car to disarm him,” he told “THR.” At some point, he dropped the knife, and I got hit pretty hard in the face – and almost instantly the police were there to break up the fight.”
The former child star also spilled on his sobriety, revealing that he is in Alcoholics Anonymous and “just started going” to a therapist.
“And I think it’s changed my life. I’m much more comfortable in my own skin. Things are so much easier now,” he explained to “THR.” “It’s a never-ending struggle.”
