“Meet the Parents” Star Files for Bankruptcy
“The Fosters” actress Teri Polo has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Polo, who also starred in the “Meet the Parents” trilogy, allegedly owes more than $700,000 in back taxes, along with a substantial amount of credit card debt, TMZ reports.
According to the “Daily Mail,” the star had an expensive divorce from Anthony Moore when they split in 2005.
Polo, 44, has two children, and she is believed to be earning roughly $25,000 per episode for her role on ABC Family’s “The Fosters.”
She and actress Sherri Saum co-star as same-sex parents raising their biological and adopted children on “The Fosters,” which was named Best Drama at the 2014 GLAAD Media Awards earlier this month.
The show quickly grew in the ratings after a sluggish start in 2013, earning a second season that premieres on Monday, June 16.
