Megan Fox: Michael Bay & I Both Have "Willful, Powerful Personalities"
After Megan Fox was publicly dropped from the “Transformers” franchise not long after comparing director Michael Bay to Hitler, it appeared unlikely the two would team up again.
So it was especially shocking when he hired Fox to play intrepid TV reported April O’Neil in his reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
The actress tells “Entertainment Weekly” that while they’ve certainly had their ups and downs, things couldn’t be better.
“I’ve always loved Michael,” she told “EW.” “We’ve had our battles in the past but even when I’ve been really outspoken bout difficulties we’ve had, I’ve always followed up by saying that I have a particular affinity for him… But, sometimes we clash because we both have very willful, powerful personalities.”
Beyond becoming “more of a leader” and being “more representative of a modern woman,” Fox says April is much more buttoned up that Mikaela in the “Transformers” movies.
“I’m completely clothed for the entire movie,” she says, addressing her complaints of her “Transformers” and “Bad Boys II” roles. “There’s no gratuitous skin or sexual anything. [Director Jonathan Liebesman] was really insistent on not wanting her to be sexualized or to take that sort of typical movie we’ve seen women take in movies thus far, and that I’ve taken in particular.”
The new “Turtles” hits theaters on August 8.
