Leah Remini Doesn’t Want to Be Known As “A Bitter, Ex-Scientologist”

Leah Remini left Scientology in a blaze of glory last year, but from the way she explains it, that was not her intention.

In a new interview with BuzzFeed, the “King of Queens” actress explains her decision to leave the religion behind.

“In my house, it’s family first – but I was spending most of my time at the Church,” she said. “So, I was saying ‘family first,’ but I wasn’t showing that. I didn’t like the message that sent my daughter.”

From there, she tried to make changes, but she only hit obstacles that made her question the Church’s teachings.

“We had a chance to make a change from within, but they didn’t want to,” she added. “That showed me they didn’t actually care, which went against everything I thought we stood for.”

That said, Remini says she doesn’t “want to be known as this bitter, ex-Scientologist,” noting that she is just trying to share the truth.

In an unrelated tidbit, she also dished on her turbulent exit from CBS’s “The Talk,” calling the arguments between co-hosts “nasty girl s*** that had nothing to do with business.”
