Jack Black Nabs Role in R.L. Stine’s “Goosebumps”

Jack Black is going to get his spook on.

The comedic star has landed a major role in “Goosebumps,” an adaptation of the wildly popular book series by R.L. Stine, “Variety” reports.

He will star opposite Dylan Minnette (“Lost”), who will move to a small town and discover that his oddball neighbor is in fact a young adult horror writer like Stine.

Black will play the acclaimed author, whose many demons “are set free by a demonic ventriloquist’s dummy,” leaving Minnette and Stine’s niece to save the day.

His niece will be played by up-and-coming Israeli actress Odeya Rush in the film, according to “The Wrap.”

Aside from the books, the “Goosebumps” series has been made into a TV series of the same name, which came in the vein of a “Twilight Zone”-style anthology series.

The film will open on March 23, 2016. Are you down to see a big-screen “Goosebumps” adaptation? Weigh in below!
