Three freshman shows just got the good news this week that they’ll be back for season 2.
“Finding Carter” – which is about halfway through its season 1 run on MTV – also earned a 12-episode renewal this week.
Per “The Hollywood Reporter,” the vote of confidence for the Tuesday night family drama is in large part because the series is heavily DVRed and has a large online presence.
On Tuesday, FX’s “The Strain,” which airs Sunday nights at 10pm, was also picked up for a 13-episode second season.
The renewal is not much of a shock, considering creator Guillermo Del Toro outlined a five-season plan and the network’s president, John Landgraf, said they’ll produce “39-65 episodes.”
The most surprising renewal this week definitely goes to AMC’s “Halt and Catch Fire,” a 1980s-set drama starring Lee Page (“The Hobbit”).
Deadline reports that the low-rated series will return, and the home of “Breaking Bad” is committed to “building audience over time.”
Finally, on Wednesday afternoon, Showtime announced 12-episode season three renewals for both "Masters of Sex" and "Ray Dononvan."
