Robin Williams’s wife is speaking out about her husband’s decision to end his life.

Susan Schneider sent a statement to the press on Thursday, revealing that he was secretly living with Parkinson’s disease, “USA Today” reports.

"Robin's sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson's Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly," Schneider said (via “USA Today”).

Schneider continued by expressing her hope that others will be inspired to “find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid.”

On Monday evening, it was confirmed that Williams’s body had been found and suicide was suspected.

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings," Schneider said in Monday (via NBC Bay Area). "I am utterly heartbroken."
