Three years after “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” the legendary Autobots are back, and the danger is even greater than ever.
Mark Wahlberg is subbing in for Shia LaBeouf for the franchise’s fourth installment, “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
Wahlberg filmed parts of “Age of Extinction” in downtown Detroit, which was transformed to look like Hong Kong.
No detail was spared in trying to cover up for the locale switcheroo, from the billboards to the cars and everything in between.
We’ve got exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the set, including a look at the iconic cars featured in the series, including the semi-truck that doubles as Optimus Prime.
It’s not clear yet why Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager was headed for Hong Kong, but either way, let’s just say there was a lot to clean up after his visit.
The casting shakeup shifts the new film’s narrative away to the father-son relationship between Yeager and his on-screen daughter, Nicola Peltz (“Bates Motel”).
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” hits theaters on June 27. Check out the exclusive behind-the-scenes images and come back on Friday for our full review of the movie!
