FOX is continuing to expand their slate of event series with a project centering on the Boston Marathon bombing.
Deadline reports that the broadcast network is adapting Jenna Russell and Scott Helman’s “Long Mile Home,” a Pulitzer-winning nonfiction book covering the attack and its aftermath.
Because the tragedy is so fresh, with the one-year anniversary taking place in April, there might be some sentiment that it’s too early to fictionalize the events from 2013.
But writer-director Rod Lurie says FOX has been clear that accuracy is the number one priority.
“In this case, the accurate story is a phenomenal story,” Lurie said (via Deadline).
The network already has the “24” reboot starting next week, along with the U.S. remake of “Broadchurch,” titled “Gracepoint,” and the “Twin Peaks”-esque “Wayward Pines” set for later this year.
