Though it seems a bit odd to put “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and the Grammys in the same sentence, the comic book film could take down the gold next year, based on the talent they’ve pulled together.
Namely, Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar have teamed up to record the lead track from the film’s soundtrack, MTV News reports.
The song, “It’s On Again,” was written by Pharrell Williams, who recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 with his song “Happy.”
Keys broke the news on Twitter, sharing a poster of the movie’s titular hero, writing:
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will swing into theaters on May 2, while the soundtrack will debut on April 22.
Keys takes home the top spot with more than ten Grammy wins, while Williams has won a few as well. For his part, Lamar has been nominated eight times, and though he has not yet won, he did perform at this year’s show with Imagine Dragons.
