Shia LaBeouf: “I Am Retiring From All Public Life” After Plagiarism Claims

While any good PR executive might tell Shia LaBeouf to lie low for a bit, he’s taking it one step further.

At least, the controversial star announced plans to do so on Twitter, where he wrote:

The star found himself at the center of a scandal after he was accused of plagiarizing his short film from comic artist Daniel Clowes.

After tweeting a slew of apologies paraphrasing or quoting apologizes from public figures and even hiring a skywriting to say sorry to Clowes, he has now apparently chosen to hide out for a while.

“My love goes out to those who have supported me,” he also wrote.

It’s difficult to say whether he’s serious about his retirement, so fans of LaBeouf’s will have to wait and see.

The actor still has his two-part “Nymphomaniac” project with Lars von Trier set to debut, along with a new film from David Ayer (“End of Watch”) starring Brad Pitt.
