Hilary Duff and her husband have split after three years of marriage.
A rep for the ex-Disney star released a statement announcing the “amicable separation” from Mike Comrie, a former NHL player, according to Perez Hilton.
“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” the statement reads. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”
Duff and Comrie married in 2011 and are parents to baby Luca, who will turn two in March. The actress also tweeted about the breakup, writing:
In recent months, the singer-actress has been focusing more on her return to music, announcing a new song she had recorded titled “Breathing Room.”
Duff hasn’t entirely given up on acting, however, having appeared on episodes of “Two and a Half Men” and “Raising Hope” last year.
In 2014, she will star in a new film called “Flock of Dudes” with Skylar Astin (“Pitch Perfect”), Bryan Greenberg (“One Tree Hill”), Ray Liotta and “New Girl” star Hannah Simone.
