HBO is firming up its 2014 schedule, announcing the return dates for popular series like “Game of Thrones” and “Veep.”
First up, the network announced Thursday that “Boardwalk Empire” will return for its fifth and final season this fall.
“After much discussion wth my creative team and HBO, we’ve decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion,” creator Terry Winter said in the official press release.
HBO also announced their spring lineup, which will kick off with the much-anticipated return of “Game of Thrones” on Sunday, April 6 at 9pm.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s “Veep” will follow at 10pm, along with a new comedy from Mike Judge (“King of the Hill”) called “Silicon Valley” at 10:30.
The series, which stars comedian TJ Miller and Zach Woods (“The Office”), “looks at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.”
Lastly, the network handed down a season four renewal for Lena Dunham’s “Girls” three days before the third season begins airing. Season 4 will film later this year for a 2015 debut.
