Miley Cyrus Previews New Song About Liam Hemsworth
Many people took Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” as a sign of an impending breakup with Liam Hemsworth.
While the pair did end their engagement recently, the singer wrote a different song about their relationship months before the split.
In an interview with Canada’s “Fashion” magazine, Cyrus, who recently scored her first no. 1 single for “Wrecking Ball,” shared that writing “Drive” got her though a difficult period.
“I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day – emotionally it was such a hard time,” she said. “It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t. It’s also about moving on.”
The former “Hannah Montana” star has not released “Drive” to the public yet, but the song did make the cut for her new record “Bangerz,” which hits the shelves on October 8.
