John Mayer Praises Girlfriend Katy Perry's New Single, Releases Their Duet
Katy Perry fans everywhere let out a mighty “Roar” when the singer’s latest single was leaked on the internet last weekend.
But Perry’s boyfriend, John Mayer, predicted the song’s success when he first heard it, describing the single as a “megaton-bomb” and a “huge song” in an interview with Billboard.
“In a way you get swallowed up by it, it’ so big,” Mayer said. “It’s such an incredibly big song that it doesn’t need you to tell anybody, while you’re eating lunch, [that] millions of people are going to be dancing on tables to that.”
And while Perry’s song was soaring up the charts, fans got another surprise, when Mayer’s song “Who You Love” featuring Perry also leaked.
The track is off his newest album “Paradise Valley,” set to release on August 20, and is inspired by the couple’s relationship.
According to Mayer, the song allows fans to see “two sides to this relationship that are brutally honest but no less universal.”
Hopefully, in their case, the couple that sings together stays together!
