Beyonce has come a long way since her Destiny’s Child days, but she isn’t afraid to go back to her roots, especially for a great cause.
Months after bringing her girls, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, on stage to perform with her at the Super Bowl earlier in 2013, she broke out one of the trio’s biggest hits for a terminally ill fan.
In a new video posted on Beyonce’s Youtube page, the diva meets Taylon, a 13-year-old living with an inoperable tumor.
Taylon attended a Beyonce concert in December, where the singer hopped off stage and gave Taylon a big hug and sang a bit of “Love on Top” with her before performing Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” in her honor.
“Here’s a little girl literally fighting for her life,” Philanthropy Program Partnerships’ Ivy McGregor says in the video (via E! News). “’Tomorrow’s not promised, next week’s not promised, but right now I’m here,’ and her thought that will forever stay with me is, ‘Since I’m here, I might as well live.’”
