“Friday Night Lights” Follow-Up Movie Is Dead

Fans of NBC’s dearly departed “Friday Night Lights” should not get their hopes up for a “Veronica Mars”-style movie sequel.

Despite a great deal of talk over the years from the writers and even a few stars, creator Peter Berg tells Collider that the proposed feature is dead.

“There’s not gonna be a movie,” he said, while discussing his new film “Lone Survivor.” “We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t; I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.”

One of the naysayers is Taylor Kitsch, who coincidentally appears in “Lone Survivor” and is one of the few actors to star on “FNL” throughout its five-season run.

“I’ll just say no,” he tells Vulture when asked about the movie. “No, period. I’m not doing it. I’m never gonna be in that movie. There was already a movie! And the show ended f***in’ spot-on. We’re good.”

While the show’s leading lady, Connie Britton, recently explained that she would be up for returning, she suggested that her TV husband,  Kyle Chandler, is not.
