Rita Ora has signed on for her first major movie role, taking on an integral role in the highly-anticipated “Fifty Shades of Grey” adaptation.
Ora, a British musician perhaps best known in the States for being the ex-girlfriend of reality star Rob Kardashian, will play the adopted sister of Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
She tweeted the news out herself, writing, “It’s official! I’ve been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian’s sister Mia.”
The singer also announced that she was prepping her second album, her follow-up to 2012’s “Ora,” which went platinum in the U.K., where she is also a judge on their version of “The X Factor.”
“Album 2. It’s nearly time. I can’t wait. I’ve never been or felt this excited EVER,” she wrote.
The movie, which is currently filming, also stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, along with Luke Grimes (“Brothers & Sisters”) as Christian’s brother and Eloise Mumford (“The River”) as Kate Kavanagh.
“Fifty Shades” is set to hit theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day 2015. What do you think of this piece of casting news? Weigh in below!
