First Listen: Carrie Underwood Sings “The Sound of Music” in New Trailer
Carrie Underwood’s live “Sound of Music” debut isn’t for another month, that the country sweetheart is already singing her heart out in anticipation.
While there was a quick teaser trailer for the live adaptation, set to air on NBC in December, a new “In Rehearsal” preview shows off the stars singing for the first time.
“It feels so good and we’re doing it live in front of the entire universe,” the “American Idol” alum says (via E! News). “The talent is off the charts. These people are amazing.”
Along with the first glimpse of Carrie singing both “My Favorite Things” the musical’s title track, Audra McDonald can be seen as Mother Abbess, along with NBC stars Laura Benanti and Christian Borle as Max Detweiler and Elsa Schraeder, respectively.
Partway through a run-through, Benanti and Borle start laughing, leaving Borle to joke, “It’s a good thing we’re rehearsing!”
“The Sound of Music, Live!” will air on Thursday, December 5 at 8pm. What do you think of Carrie Underwood’s take on Maria Von Trapp?
