Second “RoboCop” Trailer Hits: “Why Is America So Robo-Phobic?”
The second full trailer for the “RoboCop” reboot is here, and it asks one very important question: “Why is America so robo-phobic?”
Samuel L. Jackson’s talk show host poses the question right off the bat, noting that every country in the near-futuristic setting for the film is using robots to solve crime – except for the United States.
After Michael Keaton and his OmniCorp coworkers debate whether the States are ready to put a robot on the streets, they come up with a compromise, MTV News reports.
They plan to fuse a robot and a human, and hence RoboCop is born. Or rather, Officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) becomes RoboCop after a near-death experience.
Gary Oldman also stars, along with Abbie Cornish, Michael K. Williams (“The Wire”) and “This Is the End” star Jay Baruchel.
“RoboCop” will be released on February 12, 2014. How do you think the remake stacks up to the original? Weigh in with your opinions in the comments!
