Hear Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" for “The Hobbit” Sequel, See Extended Trailer
With a little more than a month before the new “Hobbit” sequel hits theaters, a new trailer for “The Desolation of Smaug” has been issued.
Deadline reports that the sequel to “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” due out on December 13, again stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom and Lee Pace.
Yet the new trailer is notable for introducing fans of the J.R.R. Tolkien series to characters played by Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel) and Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman).
Peter Jackson’s film is also getting a little help from a lovable redhead – and no, we’re not talking about Gimli.
An original track by Ed Sheeran called “I See Fire,” which is not expected to appear on his next solo album, has landed the plum end credits slot in “Desolation.”
Sheeran shared the news on Twitter, adding that he plays all of the instruments on the track other than the cello and thanking Jackson for the opportunity.
