Britney Spears Shows Off Her Vulnerable Side in “Perfume”
Britney Spears’s latest “Perfume” has nothing to do with her fragrance line – it’s the name of her latest single from her forthcoming album, “Britney Jean.”
The “Work B****” singer shared the song, which explores a softer side of the seasoned pop star, on her Facebook page Sunday evening.
To celebrate the preorder of her new record, which bows on December 3, Spears released the track and opened up about the personal new song with E! News.
“’Perfume’ is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home, and I think the story is relatable to everyone,” she tells E! “Everyone’s been through an insecure moment in a relationship that’s left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that.”
While promoting the upcoming album, Spears shared that this was her most “personal” release yet and deals with her split from ex-fiance Jason Trawick.
“It was a hard break-up, but it wasn’t one of my hardest break-ups, but I definitely had some things to say in my album bout it, so you’ll see,” she told the U.K.’s “This Morning” in October.
