"The Wolverine" Star Hugh Jackman Treated for Skin Cancer
Hugh Jackman may play Wolverine in the movies, but in real life, he’s not as invincible.
The Australian A-lister was recently treated for skin cancer and noted that his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, had been urging him to get looked at by a dermatologist.
Jackman shared the news himself on social meeting, releasing a photo of himself with a bandaged nose on Instagram.
The caption reads, “Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma.”
Based on the message, Jackman seems to be doing just fine, but he went on to urge fans to take skin cancer seriously by getting checked and to using sunscreen.
The actor recently signed on for a third standalone film centered on his iconic Wolverine character and will reprise the role next year in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
Jackman also recently won a Golden Globe for his role in “Les Miserables” earlier this year.
