The latest news in the Amanda Bynes saga is both good and bad for the troubled star.
TMZ reports that a judge found Bynes mentally competent to stand trial for driving under the influence.
Of course, the bad news is that she is still facing charges, bud TMZ suggests that both sides will likely come to a plea deal in light of the star’s alleged Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder diagnosis.
The judge’s ruling does not impact Lynn Bynes’s conservatorship over her daughter’s medical and financial decisions, but it is still a sign that things are looking up for Amanda.
As previously reported, the 27-year-old actress is expected to be released from the Malibu rehab facility by Christmas.
In September, Bynes transferred to the center from the UCLA psych ward, where she was brought after being taken into custody on a 5150 psychiatric hold after allegedly setting fire to a stranger’s driveway.
