Miley Cyrus Lights Up During Controversial MTV EMAs Appearance
Miley Cyrus is clearly going for the record as the most talked-about star of 2013, and she seems to be getting her wish.
The singer took the stage at the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday night in Amsterdam, reportedly lighting a joint and smoking marijuana onstage, “Us Weekly” reports.
Earlier that day, fellow EMAs performer Katy Perry tweeted about not needing to “be high” to perform at the award show:
Perry then replied to Miley, writing “#afterparty,” but the “We Can’t Stop” singer couldn’t wait that long.
While Perry took home the award for best female artist, Miley won the EMA for Best Video with “Wrecking Ball,” which is when she lit up.
Yet the pop star also performed that night, singing her first two singles from “Bangerz,” including a performance of “Wrecking Ball” with a video of her crying on the screen behind her.
What do you think of Miley’s decision to smoke on stage? Is it surprising at this point? Let us know in the comments!
