Lionsgate is working on transforming “The Hunger Games” from a movie poster into a roller coaster.
According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” CEO Jon Feltheimer spoke out Friday about turning the successful franchise into a theme park.
“We have been approached in two territories about potential theme park opportunities, which gives you a sense of the cultural impact of this franchise,” he said (via THR). “We are excited about those opportunities and are pursuing them.”
Feltheimer had little else to say on the subject, but it would mark the biggest movie-themed amusement park since Universal Studio’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
In the meantime, Lionsgate is gearing up for the premiere of the “Hunger Games” sequel, “Catching Fire,” which will debut on November 22.
Though star Liam Hemsworth showed off a brief scene during an appearance on the “Tonight Show,” the first official clip from the film, featuring Woody Harrelson’s Haymitch, was released on Facebook:
