Katy Perry’s “Prism” Debuts at No. 1

Katy Perry
just roared her way to another no. 1!

The pop star’s third studio album, “Prism,” debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200, selling 286,000 copies.

Billboard notes that “Prism” marks the highest sales in one week for a female musician this year, beating out Miley Cyrus’s “Bangerz” at 270,000.

“Bangerz” remained in the top 10 at no. 4, coming in behind Pearl Jam and Drake, with Lorde, Justin Timberlake and Fifth Harmony also making the cut.

Perry’s “Teenage Dream” also went no. 1 back in 2010, but the new album’s launch outsold “Dream” by nearly 100,000 copies.

Yet she hasn’t won yet, as she still has to sell more copies than Lady Gaga’s “Artpop” and Britney Spears’s “Britney Jean,” both of which are due out before year’s end.
