Katniss Everdeen, Thor Among Most Popular Movie-Inspired Costumes
Coming up with the perfect Halloween costume is no easy task, so it helps when you can just dress up as their favorite movie character.
Case in point, Fandango conducted a survey completed by thousands of movie fans to find out which 2013 movie-inspired costumes are most popular this year.
Katniss Everdeen from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” blew the rest of the female candidates out of the water with 41 percent, with Theodora from “Oz: The Great and Powerful” in a distant second with 11 perfect.
Fellow “Catching Fire” character Effie Trinket, “The Great Gatsby” character of Daisy Buchanan and Hit-Gril from “Kick-A** 2” round out the list.
For men, Thor took the top spot with 21 percent of the vote, along with Superman, Iron Man, Ron Burgundy of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” and in a bit of a surprise, 86-year-old Irving Zisman from “Jacka** Presents Bad Grandpa.”
As for team costumes, everyone was stuck on “Catching Fire” as well, with some planning to be flappers from “Gatsby,” witches from “Oz,” the news team from “Anchorman 2” and characters from “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.”
