Chris Brown Enters Rehab After Assault Arrest

Chris Brown
has checked into rehab following his arrest on assault charges.

CNN reports that the troubled star entered a facility after he was arrested Sunday.

“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” his rep said in a statement (via CNN). “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”

Brown and his bodyguard were charged with simple assault in Washington, D.C. after a 20-year-old man’s nose was broken.

The arrest could prove problematic for the controversial star, as the judge in Los Angeles “overseeing his felony probation could order him to complete as many as four years in prison for the beating of Rihanna if he is found in violation of probation.”

After 36 hours in jail, the musician was taken to court and later release, though he is due back in court in L.A. next month for a probation hearing.
