CBS Orders a "Charmed" Reboot
On the heels of the 15th anniversary of the show’s premiere, “Charmed” might be getting the remake treatment over at CBS.
Vulture reports that the Eye is jumping on the witchy bandwagon, and a script has been ordered for an undated version of the WB hit.
Witches are all the rage on television this season, what with new series like “Witches of East End,” “American Horror Story: Coven,” “Sleepy Hollow” and “The Originals.”
Likewise, reboots are the name of the game this season, with reimagined versions of “Murder, She Wrote,” “Love, American Style” and several adaptations of the “Wizard of Oz” in the works.
Though it’s clear CBS is banking on the success of the original series, it still seems a bit early for a remake, since the series only ended its run seven years ago.
In its original iteration, “Charmed” starred Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and later Rose McGowan as the Halliwell sisters, who shared a knack for witchcraft.
Which actresses would you like to see take on the Power of Three? Do you think it’s too soon for a “Charmed” remake? Debate away in the comments!
