The upcoming Lance Armstrong biopic has found its lead in Ben Foster.
According to “Us Weekly,” Foster will play the disgraced Tour de France champion in a film based on sports journalist David Walsh’s book, “Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.”
The film will feature his testicular cancer diagnosis, as well as “his meteoric rise as a superstar athlete, and ultimately to his downfall following a massive doping scandal that peaked in 2012.”
While not exactly a household name, Foster has starred in a number of high-profile films in recent years, including “Contraband,” “Alpha Dog” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
Chris O’Dowd, who played the lovable Officer Rhodes opposite Kristen Wiig in “Bridesmaids,” will play Walsh in the film, which is expected to being filming on October 18.
No other casting has been revealed, though we have to admit we’re curious as to who will take on the role of Armstrong’s one-time love, Sheryl Crow.
