A Royal Family Christmas in the Works for Prince George?
The royal family is planning a family get-together at Christmastime for the newborn heir-to-the-throne, Prince George.
In what is considered to be a break from the tradition, the royals are said to be planning a family celebration, with Kate Middleton’s parents said to be invited to attend the Queen’s country estate at Sandringham.
“This year’s celebrations are set to be extra special after Prince George’s arrival,” a royal insider told the U.K.’s “The Sun.”
The “Daily Beast” notes that William and Kate spent Christmas with the Middletons last year, so the Queen’s actions might be signaling that she wants her turn with her grandson and his wife.
“What better way to mark such a magical year than by having the whole family present?” the source adds. “Kate is very close to her family. Any child’s first Christmas is one no grandparent would want to miss.”
It’s unclear who else might be attending the royal festivities, though Perez Hilton reveals that Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry are expected to be invited as well.
