Trailer for “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” Debuts
The second full trailer for “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” has debuted ahead of the film’s winter release.
According to Deadline, the film is the follow-up to “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” again by Peter Jackson, who helmed the much-lauded “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
“Desolation of Smaug” is the second part of a new trilogy of “The Hobbit” films, with Martin Freeman returning as Bilbo Baggins alongside Ian McKellen’s iconic Gandalf.
While the J.R.R. Tolkien classic was originally intended to be split into two movies, time constraints led MGM and Warner to add a third installment, with the first film running nearly three hours.
The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Evangeline Lilly (“Lost”), Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans (“Fast & Furious 6”) and “Matrix” star Hugo Weaving.
“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” hits theaters on December 13! What did you think of the trailer for the film? Are you excited that Legolas and Gandalf are back in your life? Let us know in the comments!
