Lea Michele Breaks Her Silence on Cory Monteith’s Death

In the same week that the late Cory Monteith will be honored on “Glee,” his girlfriend Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time on his death.

Describing the tribute episode as “perfect,” the “Glee” actress shared about her decision to return to the show after his tragic death at the age of 31.

“I feel like, for me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn,” she told “TV Week Australia.” “We had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium and some of the cast members sang and people spoke about him. It only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic.”

The tribute has been named “The Quarterback” and will jump ahead to a few weeks after Finn’s passing, with the show never mentioning his cause of death. The actress will sing Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” in his memory.

“Everyone is asking: ‘Is it hard to do this? Is it hard to be back at work,’ but the truth is it’s no harder at work than it is in life so we might as well all be together as a family supporting each other to get through this together,” Lea added.

“Glee” will air its homage to Finn Hudson on Thursday, October 10 at 9pm on FOX. Check out the songs in advance over at "Entertainment Weekly."
