Lady Gaga may “live for the applause,” but one person who certainly isn’t clapping is Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
According to Wetpaint, Levine took to Twitter over the weekend and posted a somewhat vague remark of a current pop star, writing:
“The Voice” coach then clarified his remark, writing, “I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That’s It. It doesn’t need any extra sauce.”
Some theorized that Levine was talking about Lady Gaga, who has been performing in a costume of late that resembles the iconic “Birth of Venus” painting.
Gaga seemed to think she was the target of his message as well, brushing off the critique with her own cheeky response:
