Just months after his wife gave birth, Prince William is ready for another major life change.
The palace announced Thursday that the prince would in fact be ending his service in the Armed Forces after seven years.
According to the statement, part of his new duties will include more work as a royal, continuing to “support the work of The Queen and the Royal Family through a [program] of official engagements, both at home and overseas, with The Duchess of Cambridge.”
In stepping down, William have more time to spend with his wife, Kate Middleton, and his newborn baby, Prince George.
The couple will soon be moving into their official residence at Kensington Palace “within the next few weeks.”
Among other things, William began full-time duties in the military in January 2006, will also have more time to focus on his charity work with endangered species, children and military veterans.
Since Kate gave birth to baby George, the family stayed with her family for a number of weeks before William had to return to service.
