Carson Daly has hosted “TRL” in the afternoon, “The Voice” in primetime and “Last Call” in late night. Now he’ll take over the final frontier with a new early morning gig on NBC’s “TODAY Show.”
According to “TODAY,” Daly will be hosting a new social media space called “The Orange Room” that will “allow viewers to weigh in and influence show segments…”
The busy TV personality will still host NBC’s “The Voice,” but his role on “Last Call” will transition from host to executive producer, though he will reportedly be involved in choosing his replacement, TVLine reports.
“For over a decade now, NBC has allowed me to grow and delve further into live broadcasting and producing, and I am so grateful for these opportunities,” Daly said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be joining the talented team at ‘TODAY.’”
The shift comes as NBC preps for a major shake-up in its late night schedule, with Jay Leno leaving “The Tonight Show” once again.
In his place, Jimmy Fallon will take over “Tonight” while “Saturday Night Live” head writer Seth Meyers will debut as the new host of “Late Night” during the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
