As Gia Allemand’s family prepares for her funeral, her friends and co-workers gathered in New Orleans to pay tribute to the late reality star.
According to TMZ, more than 50 people attended the “farewell ceremony” at the Mississippi River, where everyone reportedly threw white flowers into the river to “symbolize that our love and memory of [Gia] will continue to flow in our hearts.”
The former “Bachelor” contestant, who had been in a long-term relationship with New Orleans Pelicans star Ryan Anderson, died last week after an alleged suicide attempt in her home.
The star’s mother issued a statement, dispelling rumors about her daughter’s death, adding, “After the funeral, I do intend to speak about my dear daughter’s life and death, and will do so in an open disclosure way with a trusted media source.”
Her family will hold a funeral ceremony on Thursday, August 22 at Trinity Grace Church in Chelsea, New York.
