“Sex & the City” creator Darren Star is setting out to write about another woman trying to make a living as a writer.
No, he hasn’t gotten a gig writing for the CW’s prequels series “The Carrie Diaries.” Instead, he has set up a project at TV Land based on a novel called “Younger.”
Written by Pamela Redmond Satran, the story follows a newly-divorced wife and mother in her 40s who decides to kickstart her career, according to “The Futon Critic.”
With a little white lie about her age, saying she in her twenties, she “wins a coveted position at the city’s hottest publishing company,” according to the press release. “Pretending to be ‘younger’ doesn’t hurt in the bar scene, either, as guys line up like never before.”
Star previously adapted another book, Candace Bushnell’s “Sex and the City,” into the iconic HBO series that lasted for six seasons and spawned two feature films.
