The cast for the highly-anticipated “The Fault in Our Stars” film adaptation is coming together nicely.
Sam Trammell, who plays shape-shifter Sam Merlotte on HBO’s “True Blood,” has been cast as the father of Shailene Woodley’s character in the project.
Trammell will star alongside the previously-cast Laura Dern (HBO’s now-defunct “Enlightened”), who will play his wife, according to “The Wrap.”
The film, directed by Josh Boone, is an adaptation of John Green’s bestselling novel of the same name and is centered on the romantic relationship of two cancer patients, played by Woodley and Ansel Elgort, who oddly enough also plays Woodley’s brother in “Divergent.”
Nat Wolff (“New Year’s Eve,” “Admission”) has also been cast in the role of Isaac, the best friend of Elgort’s character.
The star-studded cast will begin working together later this month in Pittsburgh. Though he has been acting since the mid-‘90s, Trammell broke out on “True Blood.”
Though “The Fault in Our Stars” isn’t due out until next year, you can catch Trammell on the season finale of “True Blood” this Sunday.
