After a brush with near-tragedy this past Monday, Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster is expressing gratitude for her son Usher Raymond V’s ongoing recovery.
The single mother expressed her thanks via social media Thursday, taking to Twitter, writing, "I'm very happy this morning, my son is resting well... we had a SpongeBob marathon ALLL night, he wouldn't go to sleep! Thank u 4 the prayers."
Foster also posted an Instagram photo of her cuddling a delicate-looking boy, alongside a stack of “Get Well Soon” fare, with the following message: “My
favorite 5 year old. What a blessing! I have always loved and appreciated my
sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident. URV had an angel named Kile Ishmael and our Lord and true savior to look after him. Words cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am…”
In 2012, the doting mother’s world was turned upside down when her 11-year-old son Kile Ismael Glober—stepson to Usher—passed away after being struck by a jet ski while swimming in Lake Lanier in Atlanta.
Usher was awarded primary custody of the couple’s two biological children last year, but after the accident in his home this week E! News reports that foster is seeking primary custody, with a hearing scheduled for August 9.
