Judge Denies Release for Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes
is reportedly doing much better since entering a psychiatric hospital on a 5150 hold, but that doesn’t mean she’s getting an early release.

According to TMZ, Bynes’s lawyer argued before a judge this week that his client had recovered and did not need to stay for the full two weeks.

The judge denied the star’s claim, allegedly agreeing with her doctor’s that “her mental situation is still precarious,” as she still does not believe that she is suffering from a mental illness.

Bynes has been in the mental facility for more than a week, so her stay is almost complete. Her parents are still set to appear in court later this month to petition for a conservatorship over their daughter’s legal decisions.

At the first hearing, the judge denied their request as he said he needed more information. The situation began when Bynes allegedly set fire to a stranger’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, California.
