9/20 Family Building Expo

All are welcome at the Family Building Expo, a free event scheduled for Saturday, September 20 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

The expo will gather a broad cross-section of the adoption community, including state and private adoption agencies, adoptive parents, support groups, adoption specialists in international and private adoptions, foster care, adoption attorneys, as well as specialists in assisted reproductive technology. For those thinking of either adoption or an assisted reproductive technology as a way to build your family, this event is for you! The expo is sponsored by the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys. A fundraising walk designed to support thousands of individuals and families living with Primary Immunodeficiency across the U.S. Participants can organize a team, join an existing team, or register as an individual. All proceeds benefit IDF. Registration is available for walkers and non-walking supporters. All are welcome!

Primary immunodeficiency diseases, or PI, affect children and adults who are born with an immune system that is either absent or severely compromised, which leads to a greater risk of infections. In most cases, there is a pattern of chronic infections before PI is suspected. There are more than 200 types– some are relatively common and others are quite rare and while there are approximately 250,000 people diagnosed with PI in the U. S., thousands more go undetected.
