Reilly Fies, Public Relations for Hershey Park joins me with all the details of the upcoming Wine and Food Festival at Hershey this weekend.
The Hotel Hershey Wine & Food Festival will be held across the grounds of the Hotel this weekend. Celebrating its fourth year, the weekend is filled with events and treatments for all tastes.
Registration is required for all events and can be made by calling 717-534-8800. Guests must be 21 or older and provide valid ID at each event.

Friday, September 13
The weekend will kick off with a Wine Reception hosted by New Zealand Winemaker Murray Cook from Villa Maria Wines, featuring wine selections and heavy hors d’oeuvres with a New Zealand-themed menu. At 8 p.m. guests will be introduced to the lighter side of wine with “Something To Wine About,” a comedy show featuring Laurie Foster, The Stand Up Sommelier. (7-10 p.m.)
Saturday, September 14
A “Vine to Wine” tour takes guests through the winemaking process beginning with a tour of Waltz Vineyards in nearby Lancaster County. The tour is followed by a walk-through of the complete winemaking process with owners Jan and Kimberly Waltz. Transportation to and from The Hotel Hershey and boxed lunch are included.
8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
Saturday evening closes with a Villa Calcinaia Wine Dinner hosted by the Italian winery’s owner, Count Sebastiano Capponi. The five-course dinner will feature rustic Italian food paired with Villa Calcinaia wines. Guests will be able to meet and interact with other wine enthusiasts and Count Capponi as he makes his way around the room.
Sunday, September 15
New this year is a VIP Winemaker Breakfast. The breakfast buffet is hosted by Murray Cook and Count Sebastiano Capponi. Registration and wristband pick-up will be available during breakfast for guests who will enjoy the Grand Tasting in the afternoon.
The Grand Tasting features more than 40 international and domestic wineries, a selection of local breweries, food samplings from Hershey Entertainment & Resorts’ award-winning chefs and restaurants and live music. Guests are invited to stroll and enjoy the grounds of the Hotel’s Formal Gardens and Harvest Plaza. Participating wineries include Charles Krug, DeLoach, Ferrari Carano and Lucas & Lewellen.
